Beavers Hold Off Diamond Hoppers, 5-4
UTICA, Mich. – Right-handed pitcher Brian Heldman threw 1.1 scoreless innings, including getting out of a bases loaded jam to earn the save, while Nicholas Campana drove in two runs to lead the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers (21-19) to a 5-4 win over the Eastside Diamond Hoppers (20-19) on Wednesday at Jimmy John’s Field.
LHP Kevin Matthews earned the win on the mound, tossing 5.0 innings, allowing two runs and struck out six.
Leading the Diamond Hoppers was Sebastian Diaz, going 2-for-4 with one RBI. Pat Adams and Kody Ruedisili each drove in runs for the Hoppers.
