Mammoths Take Victory Against Unicorns, 8-6
UTICA, Mich. – The Westside Woolly Mammoths (21-16) defeated the Utica Unicorns (20-18), 8-6, by scoring two runs in the top of the ninth inning, on a beautiful Friday night at Jimmy John’s Field.
Colby Seltzer had one hit on the night, but it proved to be a big one, bringing in what would be the game winning runs. Jose Cedeno and Anthony Sharkas both had two hits, and Dre Williams-Nelson hit a home run, scoring three runners. Fox Leum ended the night with two RBI on his home run.
RHP Zach Zaborowski started on the mound for Westside, tossing 2.2 innings and striking out seven, followed by Nate Blain who pitched 5.2 innings. Aaron Evers faced the last two hitters, striking them both out.
For the Unicorns, Marques Titialii and Austin Ochoa both hit a home run, and Kody Hanna finished the night 2-for-5. Ethan Krizen has one hit and two RBI, with one run scored.
