Unicorns Hold Off Beavers To Win 1-0
UTICA, Mich. – The Utica Unicorns held off the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers to win by a score of 1-0 Thursday night at Jimmy John’s Field. The Unicorns improve to 4-1, while the Beavers fall to 1-4.
Center fielder Drue Galassi’s RBI double in the top of the first was all the Unicorns needed to get the win tonight. His winning hit brings his RBI season total to seven, leading the team.
Unicorns pitching was also top tier with those on the mound only giving up one hit throughout the whole game. In his first start, Jordan Carr fueled the Unicorns to their win, pitching three innings and allowing no hits.
Right fielder Roy Verdejo avoided the Beavers getting no-hit with a single in the bottom of the 7th inning.
