Unicorns Win Third Straight, 5-2, Over Diamond Hoppers

UTICA, Mich. – Carter Grote went 2-for-5 with a double and drove in a game-high three runs, while right-handed pitcher Kevin Olliges tossed 3.0 strong innings to lead the Utica Unicorns (8-9) over the Eastside Diamond Hoppers (9-7), 5-2, on Wednesday night at Jimmy John’s Field.
Christ Conley scored two runs for the Unicorns and finished the game 1-for-2. RHP Chris Dula earned the hold while matching his own USPBL record with a 99 miles per hour fastball throwing a scoreless eighth. LHP Mike Scimanico earned the save with a scoreless ninth.
For the Diamond Hoppers, Thomas LaCongo went 2-for-3 with a double.
