USPBL Player Award Candidates Announced

ROCHESTER, Mich. – The United Shore Professional Baseball League announced candidates for player awards. The player awards will be released before Friday night’s playoff game between the Westside Woolly Mammoths (#4) and the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers (#3) in a pregame recognition at Jimmy John’s Field.
Eastside Diamond Hoppers Zack Gray won the triple crown with a .294 batting average, 22 RBIs and 6 dingers this season.
PITCHER OF THE YEAR CANDIDATES
Ty Hensley, RHP, Unicorns
- Finished the regular season with a 9-1 record
- Pitched a no-hitter on Aug. 6, combined no-hitter on July 3 and Aug. 14
- Ranks second with 70 strikeouts this season
Garrett Christman, RHP, Beavers
- Leads the league with 71.0 innings pitched
- Ranks No. 1 with 90 strikeouts this season
- Is tied for first with a 66.5 strikeout percentage
Nolan Clenney, RHP, Unicorns
- No. 1 with 9 saves
- Led the league with 25 appearances
- His 1.44 ERA ranks sixth in the USPBL
