Rye Pothakos

Scouting Supervisor

Rye Pothakos enters his ninth season with the USPBL, serving in Baseball Operations with a focus on scouting and player placement. With over five decades of experience in the game, he brings a deep network and a proven track record of identifying and advancing talent.

During his time with the USPBL, three of his recruits — Ricardo Velez, Malik Barrington, and Jake Mayer — have gone on to sign with Major League Baseball organizations.

Pothakos also serves as an Associate Scout for the Kansas City Royals and is the current manager of the Regina Red Sox in the Western Canadian Baseball League. Internationally, he spent five years managing, coaching, and scouting for the Greek National Team, helping guide the program to the top tier of European competition. He is a member of the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame.
