Mike Rice

Scouting Advisor

Mike Rice serves as a Scouting Advisor for the USPBL, bringing a strong reputation for player development, program building, and talent evaluation across the Metro Detroit baseball community.

Rice currently also works as an Associate Scout for the Texas Rangers, where he evaluates high school and collegiate players throughout Michigan. His ability to identify and develop talent has translated across both amateur and professional levels of the game.

Prior to entering professional baseball, Rice spent seven seasons as Head Coach at Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School, where he built one of the most successful programs in the state. During his tenure, the program captured five district championships and three regional titles, while advancing to the Division 4 state final in 2021. He also founded the Detroit Prospects, a youth baseball organization that has developed over 1,000 players.

Rice’s coaching philosophy emphasizes long-term player development, strong character, and building sustainable, winning cultures. His experience and leadership continue to play a key role in supporting USPBL player advancement.
