John Dombrowski is serving as a development coach for the league and has been instrumental to the organization of the baseball program. Dombrowski has assisted everywhere from coordinating practices to scouting potential players. He will also be the assistant manager for the Utica Unicorns.
Dombrowski has been the assistant coach for Wayne State University for 14 years. He oversees the development and instruction of the catchers. Prior, he was an assistant coach at Macomb Community College (2005-08). He served as a roving instructor and oversaw some of the offensive and defensive aspects of the program. More specifically, he was in charge of the catching instruction and implementing a strength and conditioning program.
The St. Clair Shores native is very active in coaching, training, and mentoring amateur players and is in his fourth decade of coaching experience. He has enjoyed measurable success in the recruitment and placement of local high school players into the college ranks as well as advancing them professionally.
Dombrowski attended Macomb Community College and Saginaw Valley State University. He and his wife, Brenda, have two daughters, Allie and Megan.
