Mammoths Take Game Two, 4-2, Over Unicorns
UTICA, Mich. – The Westside Woolly Mammoths (16-10) secured a 4-2 victory over the Utica Unicorns (16-15), taking the second game in the Saturday doubleheader at Jimmy John’s Field after losing a close one in the previous contest.
Drew Fleming put the Mammoths on the board early, hitting a three-run double, giving his team the lead at the end of the first inning. Westside added another run in the third inning, thanks to Jose Cedeno, who singled allowing Nick Pastore to score.
Utica would finally begin to get in a groove offensively in the top of the fourth, adding their first runs of the game from Tyler Shinn.
Neither team would score for the rest of the contest, and the Mammoths and Unicorns would split the doubleheader.
