UTICA, Mich. – The Westside Woolly Mammoths (7-10) surged to a commanding 10–1 win over the Utica Unicorns (9-10) on Friday night at Jimmy John’s Field, using a mix of timely hitting and solid pitching to take control early and never look back.

The Mammoths wasted no time, plating three runs in the opening inning thanks to an RBI single from Dante Morton and a two-run knock from Ryne Guida. Morton stayed hot throughout the game, launching a solo home run in the fourth and adding a double in the sixth. He went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Tommy Stevenson provided the exclamation point with a three-run homer in the sixth inning to cap off the Mammoths’ offensive showcase. Stevenson finished 1-for-3 with three RBIs and a walk.

On the mound, Dillon Chapa turned in a strong start, going 4.1 innings and allowing just one unearned run on one hit while striking out seven. Dyson Johnson and Kyle Pijaszek followed with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief.

The Unicorns struggled to generate offense, managing just three hits in the game. Jared Weber was a bright spot, going 2-for-3 with a double. Their lone run came in the third on a throwing error after a wild pitch.
