UTICA. Mich. – The Westside Woolly Mammoths (10-16) exploded for six runs across the final three innings to pull away from the Eastside Diamond Hoppers (17-9), earning a commanding 9–2 victory Thursday night at Jimmy John’s Field.

A pitchers’ duel through five innings turned in the Mammoths’ favor when Dante Morton launched a solo home run in the sixth, breaking open a 2–1 game. Westside added three more in the seventh and another trio in the eighth, capitalizing on timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and a pair of wild pitches.

Morton was the catalyst of the Mammoths offense, finishing 2-for-3 with a home run, two walks, and four RBIs. Leadoff man Adam Haidermota also starred, going 4-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base, while Hank Dodson collected two hits and drove in two. The Mammoths racked up 11 total hits, including two doubles by Sebastian Trinidad, who scored three times out of the nine-hole.

On the mound, Guillermo Garcia Jr. delivered a dominant outing for Westside, allowing just one run on three hits over six innings with 11 strikeouts, earning his first win of the season. Conor Gausselin followed with three innings of relief to notch his second save.

For the Hoppers, Bailey Martin tallied two of the team’s five hits and scored a run. Andrew Bergeron drove in a run with a single in the sixth, and Marcus Judd added a sacrifice fly in the seventh.
