Beavers Bounce Back with Dominant Game 2 Win Over Mammoths

UTICA, Mich. – After a narrow loss in Game One, the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers (10-14) responded with a well-rounded performance to take the nightcap of Saturday’s doubleheader, defeating the Westside Woolly Mammoths (9-15), 6–1, at Jimmy John’s Field.

The Beavers put up three runs in both the 2nd and 4th innings and never looked back. Nate Mensik opened the scoring with a two-run double in the 2nd, while Xander Willis followed with an RBI single. In the 4th, Matt Piotrowski delivered a two-run single and Tyler Shinn added an RBI walk to extend the lead.

On the mound, starter Jake Armstrong tossed four shutout innings, scattering three hits while striking out three. The Beavers bullpen—Spencer SmithDyson Johnson, and Noah Miller—combined to hold the Mammoths to just one run over the final three frames.

The Mammoths’ only run came in the 5th on an RBI double by Hank Dodson. Despite multiple baserunners, they struggled to find timely hits, leaving seven men on base.

Beavers pitchers allowed just five hits and issued only three walks in the victory.
