UTICA, Mich. – The Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers (1-1) used a huge sixth inning to pull away and earn a 10-5 victory over the Utica Unicorns (1-1) on Saturday night during game two at UWM Field.

After trailing early, the Beavers’ offense came alive with 13 hits, including a five-run sixth inning that broke the game open. Amari Bartee had a standout performance at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs, and three runs scored. David Coppedge also delivered a huge night, finishing 3-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI, while Kayhukai Young added two hits and three RBIs.

The Unicorns stayed in the game thanks to the power bat of Rafael Jackson, who launched two home runs and drove in four runs. Zayd Brannigan also homered as Utica accounted for all five of its runs via the long ball.

On the mound, Jesus Munguia shut the door for the Beavers, tossing 2.1 scoreless innings in relief while striking out three to earn the win.

The victory capped off an offensive showcase for the Beavers, who scored in three different innings and used their late-game surge to secure the win.
