Mammoth Take the Victory Over the Unicorns, 3-2

UTICA, Mich. – The Westside Woolly Mammoths (13-8) defeated the Utica Unicorns (13-12), with a final score of 3-2 in a close game Thursday night at Jimmy John’s Field.
Mammoths RHP Zach Zaborowski earned the win pitching 5.0 innings, allowing two runs, two hits, and tallying nine strikeouts.
Westside struck first in the top of the third, starting their offense with an Alex Garbacik double, bringing Hank Dodson to third. Jose Cedeno grounded out to first, earning Dodson a run and himself his 8th RBI of the season, giving them a 1-0 lead.
The Mammoths added another run in the fourth, with a Coby Seltzer RBI double, scoring Nick Pastore and extending the lead 2-0.
Cam Farrar recorded the first hit for Utica in the bottom of the fourth, a single over the head of Fox Leum. Farrar’s hit would immediately be followed by a two-run home run from Austin Ochoa, tying the game at 2-2.
Dre-Williams Nelson scored the game-winning run in the sixth, earning an RBI on a sac fly.
