Unicorns Take Game Two Over Hoppers, 2-0
UTICA, Mich. – The home team favorites, Utica Unicorns (14-13), won game two of Saturday’s doubleheader at Jimmy John’s Field, against the Eastside Diamond Hoppers (15-11), with a score of 2-0. After falling in game one, the Unicorns came back in game two, splitting the day with the Hoppers.
Sam Buduris, batting in the nine spot, won player of the game honors. Buduris finished game two going 2-for-2 and stole three bases. Four other Unicorns stole bases, giving the Unicorns a total of seven on the night.
In his USPBL debut, RHP Utica pitcher, Logan Lee, tossed 3.0 innings allowing no runs, giving up two hits and striking out one. Conner Tomasic earned his third save of the season, throwing the final inning of the game.
For the Hoppers, newcomer Colin Cornwell went 3-for-3. There wasn’t much more offense for Eastisde, with Bailey Martin getting the only other hit. The Hoppers left seven men on base.
