Beavers Blast Past Mammoths in Offensive Showdown, 13–8
June 20th, 2025
UTICA, Mich. – The Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers (7-8) used a massive second inning and steady offense the rest of the way to take down the Westside Woolly Mammoths (5-10), 13–8, on Friday night at Jimmy John’s Field.
After a scoreless first, the Beavers lit up the scoreboard in the second, scoring seven runs off just three hits, thanks in large part to patient at-bats and timely power. The inning was highlighted by a three-run home run from Ranko Stevanovic, who capped off a four-hit night, and a two-run double by Tyler Shinn. The Beavers added insurance throughout the game, scoring again in the fifth, sixth, and eighth innings.
The Mammoths didn’t go quietly, responding with four runs in the fourth, including back-to-back home runs from Anthony Sharkas and Tommy Stevenson, and adding two more runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. Despite matching the Beavers with 12 hits, they couldn’t overcome the early deficit.
The Beavers’ bullpen held strong late, keeping the Mammoths off the scoreboard in the final three frames to secure the win.
