Beavers Rally, Defeating Mammoths, 5-1

UTICA, Mich. – The Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers (2-7) would come into Friday afternoon looking to break their seven-game losing streak, and after an impressive hitting performance, they would upset the Westside Woolly Mammoths (4-5) 5-1.
The first run scored would come off the bat of Westside’s Francis Florentino for an RBI double, his eighth of the season.
Birmingham would pick up a run and even the score at 1-1 with an RBI single, sending Ben Wikcoxson home in the top of the third, but could not bring any of the other baserunners home in the rest of the inning. They would attempt a rally in the fifth after loading the bases, but Jacob Myer would strike out Bramdon Perez on two outs.
Matt Piotrowski would bring the offense for the Beavers in the top of the sixth, giving the Beavers the lead on an RBI single, followed by there RBIs from Ray Hilbrich and Christian Ortega, creating a 5-1 lead for Birmingham, and securing the win.
