USPBL Powered by UWM Announces Official Healthcare Partnership with Detroit Medical Center

ROCHESTER, Mich. – May 19, 2025 – The United Shore Professional Baseball League (USPBL powered by UWM), is proud to announce a new partnership with the Detroit Medical Center (DMC), now the official healthcare provider of a developmental league for Major League Baseball.

This strategic alliance marks a significant step forward in player wellness and sports medicine for the USPBL. As the official healthcare provider, DMC will offer comprehensive medical support to players throughout the season, including athletic training, injury prevention, and access to leading orthopedic and sports medicine specialists.

Led by DMC Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine physician Dr. Brandon Kakos and DMC orthopedic surgeon Dr. Christopher Cooke, DMC Sports Medicine doctors will be on site to support players at all games. Also, three athletic trainers from DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan, Metro Detroit’s only freestanding rehabilitation hospital and provider of rehabilitative therapy at clinics across the region, will be assisting the team throughout the season.
