August 2nd, 2025
UTICA, Mich. – The Westside Woolly Mammoths (16-17) completed a doubleheader sweep of the Utica Unicorns (15-16) with a 4-1 victory in Game 2 on Saturday at Jimmy John’s Field.
Sebastian Trinidad led the way for the Mammoths, blasting a three-run home run in the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie and give Westside all the offense they would need. Trinidad finished 1-for-3 with three RBIs.
The Mammoths opened the scoring in the first inning, but the Unicorns quickly answered in the second with a solo home run from Jared Weber. From there, the Mammoths’ pitching staff combined for a stellar effort, allowing just four hits and striking out eight across six innings.
Guillermo Garcia Jr. (3-0) earned the win after tossing three innings of two-hit ball with four strikeouts. The bullpen trio of David Craig, Brandon Scott, and Ryan DuSang shut the door, with DuSang recording the final three outs for his first save of the season.
