This Week in the USPBL – Episode 13

August 7th, 2018

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Baseballs were flying out of the ballpark as the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers and Utica Unicorns combined for a United Shore Professional Baseball League record seven home runs to highlight This Week in the USPBL.

Brandon Rawe tied a single-game league record with two home runs on Friday against the Utica Unicorns. Right-handed pitcher Chris Dula set a new record by throwing a 102 miles per hour fastball to break his old record of 101 mph.

With just four weekends left until the playoffs, the Beavers continue to hold the league’s top record at 19-15. The Eastside Diamond Hoppers are just two games back after the extra inning come-from-behind win over the Beavers last Sunday. Every team in the league has at least 16 wins and everybody still has a chance to earn that No. 1 seed for the playoffs (Sept. 7-9).

USPBL games are played at Jimmy John’s Field in historic downtown Utica and fans can purchase tickets as low as $6 (lawn seats) or $12 (grandstand tickets) here.
