Beavers Take Game One Over Unicorns, 4-1

UTICA, Mich. – Game one of Saturday night’s doubleheader ended with a win for the Bloomfield Birmingham Beavers (3-12) against the Utica Unicorns (9-8), 4-1. With a tied game until the top of the 6th inning, the Beavers were able to bring in three runs to win the game with help from Malek Bolin‘s double.
Greg Loukinen improved his record to 3-2, tossing a complete game, scattering four hits and striking out two. Offensively, Bolin ended game one 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored. Ranko Stevanovic had two RBIs off one hit.
For the Unicorns, Sam Buduris hit his first home run of the season. Lead-off hitter, Zach Saryeldin had one hit, along with Austin Ochoa. RHP Ben Krizen started on the mound, throwing 4.0 innings, allowing one run and striking out two.
